Announcing the 1st FATE Annual Alumni Conference

Lagos – Nigeria – October 12, 2016 – FATE Foundation is holding her maiden Alumni Conference on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 with the theme “The Road to Sustainable Growth for Nigerian Entrepreneurs”. Since inception, FATE has graduated over 5000 entrepreneurs from its Aspiring, Emerging and Special Entrepreneurs’ Development Programmes and trained over 28,000 Nigerians in its short entrepreneurship certificate courses. FATE has also enabled over 60,700 Nigerian youths on the path to entrepreneurship. About 65 percent of its Alumni are actively running their businesses and most are beneficiaries of FATE Alumni Support Services.

Ibukun Awosika, the Founder of the Chair Centre and the Chairman of First Bank is scheduled to be the key note speaker for this programme which is set to be a platform for its alumni and other Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise entrepreneurs to sharpen their skill-set, strategically reposition themselves and network with entrepreneurial leaders and influencers. The programme will hold from 9.00am to 4.30pm at the Banquette Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.


Speaking on the Alumni Conference, Executive Director, FATE Foundation, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, said, “The event is a window for our Alumni to learn from entrepreneurial leaders and influencers, to share knowledge about key topical areas to grow and thrive as entrepreneurs while also giving them an opportunity to network and connect with one another”.

Expatiating on the programmes to commemorate the Conference, Chairman, Alumni Conference Planning Committee, Mr. Ibrahim Salau, said “Aside the keynote address, there will also be syndicate sessions focusing on Digital Marketing, Export Opportunities, Accessing Funding and Human Resource Management. There will also be exhibition during the conference which is expected to attract about 200 alumni business men and women from across different sectors/industries in Nigeria who have graduated from FATE since inception”.

FATE Foundation was founded in 2000 by Mr. Fola Adeola, cofounder and pioneer managing director, Guaranty Trust Bank, with a mission to foster wealth creation by promoting business and entrepreneurial development among Nigerians.
